James "Jim" C. Banks

James "Jim" C. Banks 81, of West Alexandria, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 18, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born February 3, 1940 in Campton, Kentucky, to the late Grover Cleveland and Carrie (Watkins) Banks. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 9 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ann; daughter, Christina; sisters, Mary Myers and Mae (Ken) Fleenor; brother, Andy (Faye) Banks; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him. Ole Jim had been a pharmacist for over 29 years in the West Alexandria area. He was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #147, Ancient Scottish Rite of Dayton 32nd, Eastern Star, and West Alexandria Church of the Brethren. When he was not attending car shows, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked to be out in nature, gardening, and tending to his horses and dogs. Jim was known to be a jokester, but also a fun-loving, good father who will be missed. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 23 from 12-2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 2PM with Pastor Brody Rike officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. The family is requesting everyone to please observe social distancing and to wear a facemask. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren, Hospice of Dayton, or to Preble County Council on Aging.
