Herma Lee Combs

Herma Lee (Cook) Combs age 86, of West Alexandria, Ohio finally completed her journey to Beulah Land on April 6, 2021 at Vancrest of Eaton. She was born in Kite, Kentucky on May 9, 1934 to William and Maggie (Harris) Cook. She was the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Combs whom she married on June 17, 1950; and four children Sharon Phelps, Sheila Hawk (Robert), Katrina Galliher (Wayne), and Mark Combs (Becky). Her oldest son Jimmie Combs, Jr. passed away in June 2012. There are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life was dedicated to God first and foremost and then to her husband and family. She taught Sunday School and Bible school for years at Eaton Baptist Temple. Baking and cooking were her favorite activities. You could usually find her in the kitchen singing songs, even though she couldn't remember the words. She just made up her own words. Even though she will be greatly missed, we are happy for her that she is finally out of pain and in heaven with Jesus and many loved ones and friends. Praise the Lord. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 1:00 PM Friday at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with her longtime Pastor and friend Lowell Spencer officiating. Following the service at the funeral home, a procession will lead to Sugar Grove Cemetery where a brief closing ceremony take place prior to burial.
