Herald H. Welcome

Herald H. Welcome, age 97 of Wilmington, OH (formerly of Eaton, OH) passed away Saturday evening July 29, 2017 at Ohio Cape May Nursing Home, Wilmington, Ohio. Born July 5, 1920, he was a son to the late Louis & Etha (Anthony) Welcome. Herald was a member of the Plainview Open Bible church, as well as the Masonic Temple in Trotwood, Ohio. As a respected businessman, he started his own car lot, Welcome Auto Sales in Drexel, Ohio. In 1970 he acquired his own dealership, Welcome Pontiac Oldsmobile GMC in Eaton, Ohio which served the community and surrounding area for many years. He enjoyed checking out the cars and the competition at other dealerships. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, as well as spending time with family and friends over a good meal. Through the years he helped build numerous churches and supported many ministries and had a servants heart. He will be truly missed by all. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by wife Janet Welcome: son Michael Welcome: daughter Olivia Null :siblings Herbert Welcome; Hobert Welcome; Alma Kerschner; Arletta Jenkins. Herald is survived by son Paul Welcome; Gerald (Maria) Green; Norman (Sandra) Green: daughters Cathy (Charles) Brandenburg; Lena (Rick) Perry; Shari ( Wayne) Hoover: 17 grandchildren : 33 great- grandchildren: 2 great-great grandchildren: along with many more friends, community members, and family. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US RT 35 E, West Alexandria- Funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Joshua Grimes presiding. Burial Bear Creek/ Hillgrove cemetery.
