Harold L. Shiverdecker
92, of Dayton, passed away, Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
He was born February 4, 1932, in Preble County, to the late Earl and Bessie (Hoover) Shiverdecker.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, and son, Michael.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Rick) Kendall, Steve (Ceira) Shiverdecker, and Eric (Christine) Shiverdecker; grandchildren, Shane, Kristy, Jenna, Max, and Molly; great grandchildren, Ryan, Zoe, Drew, and Everleigh; special friends, Ron Russo and Mandy Wilson; and sisters-in-law, Reba Sparks and Joanna Patrick.
Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served his country honorably during the Korean War. His dedication to both his nation and his work was a testament to the strength of his character and his commitment to those he loved.
Following his military service, Harold enjoyed a long and successful career at Delco Products, where he worked for an incredible 46 years. His loyalty and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues, and his time at Delco was filled with many fond memories and friendships.
An avid outdoorsman, Harold spent much of his free time hunting and fishing, enjoying the peace and tranquility that nature provided. Whether he was in the woods or by the water, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, sharing many of those moments with family and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10 from 1PM to 2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 2PM with Pastor Jerry Carter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
