Glenn Everett Brickey, 89, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2019 at Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus. Born May 31, 1930 in Dorchester, Virginia, he was one of eight children born to the late Famey and Worley Brickey. In addition to his parents Glenn is preceded in death by beloved son Glenn Rodney Brickey on April 18, 2019; sister Elizabeth Brickey; brothers Ezra Brickey, Hubert Brickey, Hoyt Brickey, Buford Brickey and Dillard Brickey. Glenn enlisted into the US Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War, and served as an airplane engine mechanic that included 11 months of foreign service, and was discharged in late 1954. He was an iron worker for many years with Ironworkers Local 209 of Dayton. He loved being outdoors and would spend endless hours on his tractor or just piddling around his barn. Glenn never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would listen. His pride and joy was his family whom he would talk about any chance he could. Glenn's smile was contagious, he was always optimistic and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by many. Survived by wife Bobbie (Harris) Brickey; loving daughters Glenna Brickey, Sandra Mullins and husband Keith and Andrea Hardebeck and husband Eric; grandchildren Benjamin Unger, Joshua Brickey, Erica Cox and husband Craig, Kyle Mullins and fiance Alex Kleczewski, Chase Hardebeck, Lauren Hardebeck; great granddaughter Quinn Cox; and his youngest brother Roland "Buddy" Brickey and wife Kathy. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Following the funeral home service, a family only, private interment service, with military honors, will be held at the graveside at Preble Memory Gardens. Glenn will be laid to rest next to his son Glenn. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Kobacker House Hospice - 800 McConnell Drive - Columbus, OH - 43214.
