Gladys was a devoted preacher of the gospel for over 25 years at Open Door Pentecostal Church and anywhere the Lord led her. Whether standing behind a pulpit, visiting a neighbor, or sharing a kind word with a stranger, she never missed an opportunity to spread the love of Christ.
Gladys also found joy in lifting her voice in worship. Her love for music was only matched by her love for creating beauty with her hands. She spent countless hours crafting, quilting warm and comforting throws, and sewing intricate dresses for her cherished doll collection. Each stitch was woven with love, a reflection of the kindness and care she extended to everyone she met.
To know Gladys was to know warmth, faith, and unwavering kindness. Her presence filled every room with light, and her words carried wisdom and encouragement. Though she has left our earthly home, her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 20 from 12PM to 2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria, with the funeral service beginning at 2PM. Gladys will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, “Buckle.”
