Fred Gardner

Fred R. Gardner, age 56, of West Alexandria, died suddenly on Sunday, April 10, 2011. He was born October 26, 1954, a son of John P., Jr. and Sunnye R. (Mason) Gardner. Fred formerly worked 26 years for Iams Pet Foods in Lewisburg in the Shipping and Receiving Department, and for the last year in the Maintenance Department at Vancrest Nursing Home in Eaton. Preceded in death by father John in November of 2006. Survived by wife Judy K. (Utley) Gardner whom he married May 26, 1984: children Charlotte Smith of Eaton; Martha Anslinger & husband Adam of West Alexandria; and Fredrick Gardner of West Alexandria: grandsons Cody and Shane Smith: mother Sunnye R. Gardner-Jones & husband Raymond of Eaton: brothers Darrell Gardner of Indianapolis, IN; Wayne Gardner of Eaton: sisters Denise Hebbeler of Eaton; and Johnene Boyle of El Paso, TX: father-in-law Edward "Buddy: Utley: brother-in-law Ed Utley, Jr.: best friends Bruce Sams and Danny "Virgil" Thompson. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services 1:00 PM Friday at the Funeral home with Fred's brother, Pastor Wayne Gardner presiding. Interment Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
