Fred E. Croy

Age 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in Newman, GA. He was born to Evan and Nettie (VanMatre) Croy on February 23, 1939 in Advance, Missouri.

Fred was an avid book reader and had a collection of over 2,000 books. He enjoyed building model airplanes, collecting stamps, was a cross word puzzle connoisseur, family historian with a dry sense of humor and an all around walking human encyclopedia. He really enjoyed his church and met the love of his life and future wife, Mary, while singing in the choir at Oxford Baptist Church. He was a member of Fairhaven Community Church for over 20 years until relocating to Georgia with his family and then joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Newnan, GA. Fred will be truly missed by all those who loved him.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; daughter, Dorene (Alan) Thompson, son; David (Threasa) Croy, and grandchildren and great grandchildren; and 2 brothers; Terry (Cheryl) Croy and Michael (Renee) Croy. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Laura Patterson and two brothers; Donel Croy and Kenneth Croy.

There will be a visitation at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER on Sunday, March 6 from 2:00 PM to 3:00PM, a funeral service following at 3:00pm with Pastor Dr. Richard Studebaker officiating.
