EVERETT DALE CABANISS, age 87, formerly of West Alexandria, OH passed away on March 20 after a long and blessed life. He was born and raised in Eaton, OH by the late Walter and Minnie (Leedy) Cabaniss. He graduated in 1943 from Eaton HS. Everett worked hard and played equally hard. He worked as a farmer, heavy equipment operator, salesman, builder, and businessman in yard rolling and rental properties. He enjoyed challenging games, athletic competitions, and learning new things. He was good at most everything he did including water skiing, golf, shuffle board, card games, and playing the organ. He flipped pancakes at the Eaton Pork Festival for nearly four decades. He was a man of strong faith and valued his membership and participation within the Church of the Brethren. He married the late Maxine Cabaniss in 1946 and they were devoted to each other for 48 years. Together they raised a family, traveled, and had a lot of fun. They are survived by three children and their spouses: Terry (Betty) Cabaniss of Eaton, Connie (Mike) Elliott of Dayton, and Carol (Tom) Hake of Okeana; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Everett married the late Rose Clifford Cabaniss after Maxine's passing. For the next 16 years, Everett and Rose shared the love of both their families and many friends. They enjoyed their golden years socializing and traveling. Everett is survived by his extended family: Timothy (Ann) Clifford of Apopka, FL and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Everett will be missed.... Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Eaton Church of the Brethren - 813 Camden Rd. - Eaton, OH. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Brethren Disaster Relief Fund or the Preble County Council on Aging, Transportation Department. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
