Evelyn V. Lanning

Evelyn V. Lanning, age 91, of Knightstown, IN, formerly of New Lebanon, OH, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday morning, August 14, 2014. Born December 4, 1922 in Farmersville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. & Elsie P. (Dillon) Goad. Evelyn was a 40 year member of the American Legion Axillary in Knightstown and retired in 1982 from the Children's Home in Knightstown. Survived by husband Richard F. Lanning, whom she married August 17, 1946: daughters Jerry Lou Frieszell of New Lebanon and Jean Kay Kraus & husband Larry of Knightstown: son James F. Lanning & wife Denise of Salt Lake City, UT: grandchildren Scott Frieszell, Tracy Pearson and Stacy Stoermer: 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Chaplain Scott Ellison will officiate. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
