Erin Darney

On the evening of August 24, 2021, Erin Darney of Union, OH, succumbed to her illness at the age of 61. Erin was born to James and Roberta Darney in 1959. She graduated from Northmont High School in 1979 and worked at the Englewood Burger King for 26 years. In the summer of 2011, Erin married her long-time partner Gary Cowell, and together they raised two Jack Russell Terriers, Jack and Chrissie.

Erin was an avid gardener and in her spare time enjoyed camping, decorating her household, attending art festivals, and spending time with her family as well as friends. She was known for her witty humor and outgoing personality.

Erin is preceded in death by her father James, her mother Roberta, and belvoed dog Jack. She is survived by husband Gary Cowell; sisters Nancey Franer and Theresa Cousins; brothers-in-law Chris Cousins and Arthur Franer; as well as her niece Lauren Franer.

A graveside service for Erin will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery - 3377 US Rt. 35 E., West Alexandria, OH. Pastor and family friend Steve Richardson will officiate. Arrangements entrusted to the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center.
