Emmett B. Riggs Jr.

Emmett B. Riggs, Jr., age 69, of Eaton, OH, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon July 21, 2014 at his home. Born September 8, 1944 in Kimball, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Emmett B., Sr. & Gladys M. (Brickey) Riggs. Mr. Riggs proudly served with the US Army from 1962 - 1970, assigned to the 4th USA, 15th Artillery Group, and earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired as a Quality Assurance Inspector after 37 years with Lincoln Electric in Euclid, OH. Mr. Riggs is survived by his wife Barbara D. (Hackney) Riggs whom he married December 27, 1964: daughters Natalie D. Riggs of Euclid, OH; Anna M. Moorehead & husband Paul of Willoughby, OH: son Micheal C. Riggs & wife Kelly of Gratis, OH: 5 grandchildren: and sister Dolores Davis & husband Donald of Concord, OH. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Hospice Chaplain Kay Fraley will officiate. Friends may call on the family 1/2 hour prior to the service. Following the service, the family will host a gathering of family and friends in the Community Center of the funeral home.
