Edith Hamblin

Edith Hamblin, age 93 of West Alexandria, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday May 18, 2016. Born in Campton, KY she was a daughter to the late Willie and Maggie (Spencer) Drake. Edith was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post # 7596 in Franklin, OH. She enjoyed sewing and quilting; as well as gardening. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents Edith is preceded in death by sisters Ruby Mackey; Mattie Drake and Cindy Poore. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James D. Hamblin whom she married on December 16, 1944: daughters Sharon (Ken) Norton of Greenville, OH; Loretta (Ed) Arvai of Tipp City, OH; Velma (Dan) Jones of Marysville, OH: grandchildren Kelly (Bruce) Melnick of Dayton, OH; Todd (Beth) Norton of Wilmington, OH; Mindy (Bill) Menker of Brookville; Matthew Irwin of Englewood, OH; Amy (Joel) Dallaire of Vandalia, OH and Alan Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC: sister Thelma Allen of Campton, KY: 9 great-grandchildren: as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Friends may call on the family from 10:00AM- 1:00PM on Monday May 23, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center - 3377 US RT 35 E, West Alexandria- Service to follow at 1:00 PM.
