Edgar Williams

Edgar Williams, 90, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Monday evening, September 1, 2014. Born September 6, 1923, he was a son of the late George & Ellen (Howard) Williams. Mr. Williams retired in 1976 after 30 years with the Frigidaire/Delco Air Division of General Motors. He also worked as a farmer for 35 years on Old Dayton Road in New Lebanon. He enjoyed flea markets, garage sales and trading. Edgar attended the First Baptist Church of Eaton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. A good, husband, father, grandfather and Christian man. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Leota (Gilliam) Williams, whom he married June 10, 1946: children Ella Williams of West Carrollton; James Williams & wife Linda of New Lebanon; Paul Williams & wife Quimby of Lewisburg; and Doug Williams & wife Becky of Louisville, KY: grandchildren Valerie Snyder, Greg Williams, Timothy Williams, Christopher Williams, Tyler Williams and Zach Williams: great grandchildren Gabrielle and Aaron Snyder; Whitney and Courtney Williams: brother Virgil Williams. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastors Andrew Stensass and Fred Hill presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Eaton First Baptist Church.
