Earl J. Baker

Earl J. Baker, age 87 of West Alexandria, OH passed away Wednesday August 15, 2013 peacefully at his residence. Born in Forked Mouth, KY being the oldest of 16 children he was the son of the late Saul and Ethel (Stidham) Baker In his early years he worked in the coal mines of Kentucky and was a carpenter. He retired from Inland after 30 years. He was a member of Coweta Baptist Church. A veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater with the 75th. Infantry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman ,union member local 87 , a member of the Inland Bass Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Alice Lee Baker, step father Troy Allen, brother Ernest Allen, sisters Ruth Baker Ritchie, Willamae Harris and Helen Decorta. He is survived daughter Carolyn Fuller and husband Bob of Coweta, OK, their children Tracy Cook, Robin (Robby) Dyer, Katrina (Chris) Boyd, Justin (Kristy) Fuller: son Ted Baker and wife Donna Gail of West Alexandria and their children Christy (Ova) Ashley, Misty ( Eric) Clayton, Kerri (Jason) Lautenslager: son Gary Baker (Kathy) of New Lebanon, OH and their children Paige (Nathan) Holthaus, Tara (Lee) Paries, Jessica ( Jordan) Holderman: daughter Ruby Bradley of Richmond IN and her sons Beau ( Miranda) Bradley and Wesley (Tasha) Bradley: brothers Paul Baker of KY, Raymond Allen of KY, Earl Steven Allen of CA, Joe Williams Allen of KY, Martin Allen of KY, sisters Ruby Darnstaedt of NJ, Anna Mae Napier of Dayton, OH Mahanie Angleton of TX, Frankie Lucy Slaven of GA, Mary Elizabeth McIntosh of KY and Fannie Jean Hollis of KY. 19 ¾ great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday August 19, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens- 3377 US Rt. 35 West Alexandria, OH. Pastor Joe William Allen officiating. Friends may call on the family from 2:00- 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or American Legion Post of West Alexandria. Interment Preble Memory Gardens.
