Dorothy C. (Humphrey) Schlotterbeck
99, of Lewisburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
She was born November 25, 1925, in Hamilton, to the late Hurschel B. and Etherine E. (Steig) Humphrey.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lester J. Schlotterbeck; son, James Schlotterbeck; daughter, Linda Hineman; and brothers, Donald and Stan Humphrey; and sister, Betty Nein.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Kanny and Linda Schlotterbeck; grandchildren, Bill Schlotterbeck, Aaron Schlotterbeck, Jim Schlotterbeck, and Courtney Hineman; great grandchildren, Jaycee and Gillian Schlotterbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her love for sewing was evident in the beautiful creations she crafted for her loved ones, each stitch a testament to her care and creativity. An avid reader, Dorothy often found joy in the pages of her favorite books.
Above all, Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, sharing her wisdom, laughter, and love. Her home was a haven where stories were told, hugs were plentiful, and memories were made.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 31 from 10AM to 12PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 12PM with interment to follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
