Doris F. Saylor

Doris F. Saylor, 83, a 40 year resident of Camden and Eaton, passed away early Monday morning, June 21, 2021. Born January 31,1938 in Hamilton, OH, she was the third born of five children to the late Willard and Helen (Haag) Kelley. Doris workrd for 40+ years as a grocery store cashier at the Liberal Market in Middletown ,then Miller's Grocery in Eaton. She was a 1956 graduate of Trenton High School, where she was active in women's sports, was a cheerleader, and was named the school's first Homecoming Queen in her Senior year. She was a founder of The Little Shoppe in Camden, was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church and a member of the Red Hatters Society. Doris enjoyed bowling, being with her family and watching her grandchildren play all kinds of sports. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death on November 15, 2006 by beloved husband Gilbert Saylor, whom she married July 25, 1958; son-in-law Kevin Shafer; daughter-in-law Ruby Saylor; sister Norma Pettus; brothers Don and Jerry Kelley. She is survived by daughter Toni Shafer of Eaton; Toni's sons Ric (Allie) Shafer and Jeremy (Alyshia) Shafer; sons Greg Saylor of Oxford and Michael Saylor of Eaton; Michael's son Aaron Saylor; great grandchildren Jayden Shafer, Kingston Shafer, Grayson Shafer, Silas Shafer, Cameron Shafer and Ella Shafer; brother Steve (Amy) Kelley of Centerville, OH; sister-in-law Joyce Kelley of Middletown; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, June 28, 2021 at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria.
