Doris Jean Burchett

Doris J. "Jean" Burchett, age 81, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Sunday morning, August 10, 2014 at Brookhaven Nursing Center in Brookville, OH, following a lengthy illness. Born May 9, 1933 in Lee County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Rex L. & Ruth Elizabeth (Seale) Pendleton. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon and was a faithful teacher of young children for many years. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by husband Edwin P. "Paul" Burchett whom she married March 21, 1953: children Roger Allen Burchett & wife Beverly of Dothan, AL; Edwin Paul Burchett, Jr & wife Becki of Clayton, OH; and Carolyn Ann Sauer & husband Mark of New Lebanon: 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren: sisters Velma Evelyn Ferrell of Beavercreek, OH; and Mary Ellen Skidmore of West Alexandria, OH: brothers Garland Cecil Pendleton of Cincinnati, OH; and Roger Lee Pendleton of Orlinda, TN. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the First Baptist Church - 335 S. Church St. - New Lebanon. Pastor James Whorton presiding. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria; and at the Church one hour prior to services on Thursday.
