Dora Mckenzie

Dora E. McKenzie, 87, of Winchester, KY, and formerly of New Lebanon, OH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family gone, on Thursday morning, August 25, 2011. Born in Napfor, KY, she was a daughter of the late Henry, Sr. and Flaura (Thorp) Fugate. Dora was a longtime member of the Faith Chapel Church in Farmersville. She was a homemaker caring for her husband and children and everyone she met on the path of life. Nobody ever left her home hungry because of her loving nature. In addition to her parents, also gone home are husband Strong McKenzie on August 23, 1991: brothers Carl, Bob, Bill, Hubert, Grover, Paul, Henry, Jr., Delano and Charles: and sister Mozella Cripps. Survived by children Carolyn (Paul) Naylor of Sevierville, TN; Fay (Glen) Mays of Somerset, KY; Diana Cantrell of Brookville, OH; Brenda (Armon) Nichols of Jackson, KY; Randy (Mary Hollon) McKenzie of Winchester, KY; and Brian (Dianna) McKenzie of Hillsboro, OH: 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren: brother Herman Fugate of New Lebanon: and sister Irene Webb of Brookville. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Son-in-law Armon Nichols will officiate. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
