Donald A. Mox, 67, a lifelong resident of New Lebanon, OH, passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, August 28, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born June 14, 1952, he was a son of the late Theodore and Betty (McNinch) Mox. A 1970 graduate of Dixie High School, he joined the U.S. Army in 1972 during the Vietnam War, and was assigned to the 3rd Armored Division as a Telecommunications Specialist, serving two years in Germany. After his Honorable discharge from the Army, he began work for General Motors, working at Frigidaire, Delco Products and the Moraine Truck and Bus Assembly for a total of 30+ years. After retiring from General Motors, he worked for another 7 years as a custodian and supervisor for New Lebanon Schools and Miami Valley CTC. Don was well known as a kind hearted, soft spoken man who was always willing to help. As a member of the Eaton First Church of God, he helped to teach Sunday School with his wife, helped with various mission projects of the Church and Church work projects. Don was an avid fisherman and hunter and volunteered with the Fishing Club at Dixie High School. Survived by beloved wife Carol J. (Loranzan) Mox whom he married April 3, 1976; daughters Jody L. Mox of New Lebanon and Melissa J. Baker and husband Jacob of New Lebanon; grandchildren Emilee, Riley, Peytan and Makayla; brother Jeffrey L. Mox and wife Karen of Lakeview, OH and their daughters Stacey and Sarah; special friends Dave and Doug Brombaugh and Don Wysong; along with Carol's siblings and their families. Friends may call on the family from 11:00AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan Grubbs presiding. Following the service, military honors will be presented at the graveside by the Preble County Honor Guard.
