Donald E. Giffin
Age 87, of Eaton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday March 9, 2024.
He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Penny "Penrod" Giffin on September 17, 1936.
Don is preceded in death by his mother; son, Jeff; and sister-in-law, Betty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Abby Giffin; daughter, Jeri (Kevin) Myers; grandchildren, Derrick (Ashley) Myers, Danielle (Greg) Rambo; great grandchildren, Ethan & Daisy Myers, Lucy, Ellie & Abby Rambo; brothers, Dick (Kitty) Giffin, John Penrod; sister, Sharon (Norm) James; and daughter-in-law, Theresa Giffin.
Don was a proud member of the United States Air Force where he served as an Airplane Mechanic. After the Military, he worked for 30 years at Standard Register of Dayton.
As a lifelong carpenter, Don possessed an innate ability to transform houses into works of art, leaving behind a legacy of imaginatively crafted projects that stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. Don's intelligence and capability to work with his hands was evident not only in his craftsmanship but also in his approach to life. He had a keen mind and a kind heart. He was willing to step in and help wherever he was needed.
In his free time, you could find Don cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals or The Ohio State Football Team. He enjoyed indulging his sweet tooth, whether that be a simple scoop of ice cream or any sugar filled goody.
Don was a family oriented man who devoted his life to those he loved. He shared a special bond with his loving wife, Abby. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Their journey was marked by unwavering support, companionship, and a deep understanding of each other. Their love served as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM. The service will follow at 5:00PM Pastor David Auxier officiating.
