Diane Roberts

67, of West Alexandria, peacefully spread her wings and went Home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born September 24, 1956, in Dayton, to Robert L. and Alma J. (Rice) Stansberry.

Diane was preceded in death by her dad, Robert; husband of 23 years, Dennis Roberts; and brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Connie Stansberry.

She is survived by her mom, Alma of West Alexandria; children, Robert (Christina) Stansberry of West Alexandria and Holly Sturgill of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Linda Stansberry and Katherine (Larry) Williams; grandchildren, Whitney Morgan, Tucker Sturgill, Makenzye Stansberry, and Waylon Stansberry; great grandson, Cypress “Cy” Treat; numerous nieces and nephews that loved her; and many more family and friends.

Diane was a woman of simple joys and vibrant passions. Her love for music, especially the timeless tunes of the 60s and 70s, as well as country and rock, filled her days with melody and memories. She found peace in her garden, where she would spend hours surrounded by butterflies, tending to her plants, and enjoying the company of her beloved cats.

Diane had a playful spirit, always ready for a game night filled with laughter and friendly competition. She had a deep love for the ocean and cherished her trips to the beaches of Florida and Myrtle Beach, where the sound of the waves brought her a special sense of calm.

One of Diane’s favorite pastimes was sitting outside in her yard by a bonfire, enjoying the warmth and tranquility of the night. She had a special talent for making every holiday feel magical, infusing them with joy, warmth, and love that will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 3 from 11AM to 1PM at PREBLE MRMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria.  The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Dustin Vorhis officiating and burial to follow at Twin Valley Cemetery.
