Dennis Keith Strothman, 73, of Eaton, OH, passed away suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, January 20, 2021. Born April 7, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the youngest of 9 children born to the late Arthur and Ruth (Jones) Strothman. Dennis served with the US Army from August of 1967 to August of 1969. He earned the rank of Sgt. in November of 1968 and served with the 3rd Batallion, 19th Artillary, 1st Armored Division. He deployed to Vietnam fora 1 year tour of duty and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars. A member and former Commander of American Legion Post 377 of Camden, he was instrumental in getting the new Post building constructed. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1577 of Camden and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Gratis, OH. Dennis was well known for his wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed cars, auctions and garage sales. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on May 20, 2010 by his wife of 43 years Hope Ann Strothman; grandson Nathan Brooks; sisters and brothers Ruth "Sissy", Art "Jr.", Helen, Charlie and Jean. Survived by wife Regina (Tuggle) Strothman, whom he married April 28, 2018; children Michelle Garrett and husband Nacomas of Camden, Lori Snyder and husband James of Elizabethtown, KY, Kimberly Evans and husband Keith of Camden, Tonya Brooks and husband Carl of Camden, and Dennis Jason Strothman of Camden; step children America Swartzel and husband Jesse of Eaton, Christopher Browning and wife Amber of Lewisburg; Regina's step children Roger Phillip Perry of Eaton, Sheri Waxler of Dayton and Jason Perry of Brookville; 12 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren; sisters and brother Sue, Jane and Thomas. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Bridgeford officiating. Following services at the funeral home, a procession will lead to Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, where a closing ceremony will take place at the graveside and military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard and several members of the US Army. Dennis will be laid to rest beside his wife Hope. During all funeral events, the family requests, for everyones safety, that covid protocols be observed that include wearing of face coverings, social distancing and limited personal contact.
