Dennis R. Mills

Dennis R. Mills, 64, of Perry Township, Brookville, OH, passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2016. Born January 3, 1952 in Barboursville, KY, he was the son of Ben & Rosa (Broughton) Mills. Dennis was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Alexandria for many years and previously was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville. He enjoyed music of all kinds and loved to play his guitar to magnify the Lord. He could often be found at local car shows and was known for playing Santa Claus at the nursing home in New Lebanon and several other places. Dennis was retired from Greyhound Foods. He is preceded in death by daughter Amy Mills in 1995 and mother Rosa in 2009. Survived by wife Cathy L. (Waymire) Mills whom he married May 10, 1990: children Jeffrey Hataway of West Monroe, LA; Tommy Hataway & wife Kim of Pineville, LA; Kellie Bjurman of Enterprise, AL; and Joshua Mills of New Lebanon, OH: grandchildren Tyler, Keaton, Ryder, Emily, David, Nicholas, Katie and Karson: father Ben Mills of New Lebanon: brother Herless Mills & wife Earlene of Louisville, KY: sister Janet Purk & husband Michael of Dayton, OH: numerous nieces and nephews, along with other family and a host of friends. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastors Jerry Carter and Tom Vorhis presiding. Burial will follow at Twin Valley Cemetery.
