Dalton Ray Perry
75, of Eaton, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023.
He was born July 4, 1947 in Hamilton, to the late Willie R. and Lillian (Dunson) Perry-Howard.
In addition to his parents, Dalton was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Perry; siblings, Roger Perry, Imogene Horn, and Michael Perry; granddaughter-in-law and great grandson, Alexa and Daxton Perry; and close friend, John Lamm.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karen Perry; sons, Tony Perry and Todd (MeLeah) Perry; grandchildren, Tracy (Dustin) Jones, Dalton Wayne (Pamela Fugate) Perry, Steven (Caitlyn) Perry, Breven Perry, Shaylen Perry, Thomas Perry, and James Perry; great grandchildren, Rosalee, Remington, and Dash; and siblings, Leon Perry and Mary Lou Thayer.
Dalton was a man of many talents and passions, but above all, he was a musically talented, self-taught guitar player who had a great love for music. Over the years, Dalton played in two local bands, the Silvertones and Nite Cruzer, where he shared his love of music with his fellow band members and audiences alike on Thursday nights at the Preble County Council on Aging. In addition to his music career, he was also a skilled mechanic and a true jack of all trades, who retired from Miami Valley International after 28 years as a diesel mechanic and Ideallease service manager. There were many times, family and friends brought their cars to him for repairs. As the patriarch of his family, Dalton was a guiding light and a source of inspiration to those around him. He was a people person who enjoyed being a jokester and was an avid coffee drinker. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandkids, going boating, and fishing.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29 at Eaton First Church of God, 601 W. Lexington Road, Eaton 45320 from 11AM to 1PM. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Aaron Holman officiating. Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
