Dale E. Pope

Dale E. Pope, 64, of Camden, OH, passed away on Thursday morning, May 17, 2018. Born July 3, 1953 in Middletown, OH, he was one of eight children born to the late Robert and Marie (Yocum) Pope. Dale worked in the Maintenance Department of AK Steel for 34 ½ years, retiring in 2005. He was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed boating and spending time with his family; and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Middletown. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandson Timothy Blake Grill and great grandson Gabriel Grill. Survived by wife Betty J. (Aslinger) Pope whom he married in 1971: children Dale J.R. Pope of Gratis, OH and Chrissy Grill and husband Eric Joseph Acker of Eaton; grandchildren Josh, Kayla, Dylan, Daelyn, Coltyn, Jordan, Jon and Josh; great grandchildren Olivia, Khloie, Lexi, Riley, Matthew and Grayson; brothers and sisters Jackie Williams of Middletown, Terry Pope of Monroe, Jerry Pope of Middletown, Paul of Chesterton, IN, Danny Pope of Adams Co., OH, Jimmy Pope and Beth Pope both of Middletown; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on the family from 2:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Philpot presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
