Cora Lee Jackson (nee Coker) passed away on April 11, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 90. She was born on April 11, 1934, in a coal mining camp in Virginia. Cora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She has a passion for gardening, especially flowers. She enjoyed listening to country music, particularly Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton. Known for her love of travel and people, Cora never considered anyone a stranger and touched the lives of many.
Cora is survived by her sons, Jim Jackson and Tim Jackson; daughters, Barbara Tillison, Sherry Spurlock, and Clara Jackson; 13 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Hatfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Jack Coker, and Otis Wilson; husband, Joe P. Jackson; infant son, Ronnie Eugene; daughter, Mary Jo Sexton; granddaughter, Amanda Gomez; brothers, Bill Wilson, Jim Wilson, Carson Coker, and Paul Coker; Sister, Liza Kitts.
Visitation and Services will be held on Thursday April 18, 2024 at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US RT 35 E. West Alexandria, Ohio 45381. A private visitation will take place for the Family from 10am -11am. A public visitation will be from 11AM – 12PM, a service at 12 Noon, with burial to follow at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS CEMETERY.
In memory of Cora, flowers may be sent to the funeral center, or donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
Cora Lee Jackson will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
