Conrad Lee Holt, 67, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 8, 2012. Born in Hamilton, OH, he was a son of the late Bernard V. & Carrie Louise (Summers) Holt. Mr. Holt retired as a Sargeant First Class after 20 years serving with the US Army at various duty stations and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then worked four years as a School Bus Driver for special needs children in Butler, Hamilton and Preble Counties; worked 10 years as an independent truck driver; and for several years was co-owner with his wife of Rose's Coffee & Variety Shop in Summerville, OH. He was a member of VFW Post # 8066 of Eaton and American Legion Post #322 of West Alexandria. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister Rosemary Merz and brother Walter Holt. Survived by wife Rose M. (Simpkins) Holt whom he married in 1965: children Michael Holt of Las Vegas, NV; Salina Hart & husband John of Hagerstown, IN; and Bernard Holt of West Alexandria: grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Amber, Savannah (& her fiancé Ryan Snowden), and Nicholas: great grandson Bentaly Hart: sister Karen L. Baker & husband Keith of Oxford, OH: and close friends Shelley & Mitchell Frock of West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. A procession will then lead to Dayton National Cemetery where a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM.
