Cleo N. Eby

98, formerly of West Alexandria, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Elgin, TX on June 21, 1923 to the late William and Mamie (Buckley) Wesson.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Shafer and George Eby; grandson, Buckley Zimmerman; granddaughter, Sawnie Shafer Kilroy; sisters, Juanita Davis, Ardyce Marshall, and Billie Arnold, all of Texas.

She is survived by daughter, Suzanne Zimmerman; son, Robert (Jane) Shafer; William (Sandy) Shafer; son, George Eby; and daughter, Marianna (Tim) Gunsalus.  Also survived by grandchildren, Monty Vogue, Adrianna Noble, Nick Shafer, Phillip Shafer, Paula Little, and Bill Gerlach; and five great grandchildren.  Also, sister, Mamie Ruth Jones; brother-in-law, David Arnold; and numerous nephews and nieces, and many other family members and friends.

Private graveside services were held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.  Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center assisted with the arrangements.
