Charlotte R. Greenfield

Charlotte R. Greenfield, 84, a six year resident of New Lebanon and formerly of Dayton, passed away on Saturday evening, September 14, 2019. Born July 3, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Russell Emerson Forsythe and Maybelle Leona (Millette) Forsythe. A 1953 graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton, Charlotte held many different jobs over the years. She had worked as an operator for Ohio Bell, a clerk for Miller's Department Store in Kettering, and as a nurse's aide at Dayton State Hospital. She had also worked at Bethany Lutheran Village in Centervile, Harborside Care Center in New Lebanon, and then retired after 12 years from the kitchen at Friendship Village in Trotwood. Charlotte had attended the Brethren Church in New Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death in 1989 by beloved husband Raymond C. Greenfield, whom she married February 5, 1954; great grandson Matthew Vinson; and brother Ralph Arnold. Survived by children Dorcye Woosley of New Lebanon, Janet Painter of Trotwood, Wesley Greenfield of Dayton, and James Greenfield of Miamisburg; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; and sister Sandra Barlow of Eaton. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Donnie Smith presiding. A graveside interment service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens - 7217 National Road - Brookville, OH.
