Charles E. Martin

Charles E. Martin, 70, of Eaton, OH, passed away Saturday morning, December 19, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born January 26, 1945 in Clarksville, IN, he was a son of the late Wilbur & Pauline (McCraken) Martin. Charles served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was retired from Modern Office Methods, Dayton Branch, as an office equipment service and repair technician. When he was able, Charles was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon; and in 1991, went on a mission trip to the Philippines to help during the construction of a Bible College. A train enthusiast, he was a member of the Richmond (Indiana) Railroaders and enjoyed train excursion trips. He loved photography and music and enjoyed singing; and was a life member of the NRA. Survived by beloved wife Phyllis J. (Shook) Crouch Martin whom he married March 31, 1990: son Chuck Martin and family of Clarksviile, IN: honorary family members Jin Fang and Shi Qin Zheng and families: brothers and sister John Martin & wife Cheryl and family of Sellersburg, IN; Tom Martin & wife Janice of Hurricane, WV; and Shirley "Dup" Pierce & husband Bob of Van Nuys, CA: sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Linda Hesting of Charlotte, NC; Marsha Magnin & husband Gene of Bluffton, IN; and Roger Ake of New Haven, IN and their families. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
