Charles Adams
96, of West Chester, formerly Dayton, passed away, Friday, October 18, 2024.
He was born May 27, 1928, in Beech, Kentucky, to the late John D. and Lydia (Riley) Adams.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Adams; seven brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Loraine Adams; children, Allen (Rose) Adams, Arnie (Karen) Adams, Anne Holbrook, and Alice (Sam) Rickard; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren, with two due in November; brother, Taylor Adams; daughter-in-law, Patty Adams; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles served his country with honor and continued his dedication to hard work by building a long career at Dayton Walther Corp., where he retired after 30 years of service. He was known for his reliability, integrity, and a work ethic that earned the respect of his colleagues.
More than his accomplishments, Charles will be remembered for the kind of man he was—a good father, a loyal friend, and someone who always showed up when others needed him. Whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or literally the shirt off his back, Charles embodied generosity and loyalty in every aspect of life.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 25 from 10AM to 11AM at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 E. Main Street, Eaton, OH 45320. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11AM with burial with military honors at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria following.
