Bruce Isom

Bruce M. Isom, age 58, of Eaton, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 31, 2011 while traveling and camping in Florida. Bruce was born on April 15, 1952 in Gary, IN, he was a son to the late Dewey & Beulah (Johnson) Isom. He retired in 2006 after 18 years with United Space Alliance at the Kennedy Space Center in FL. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, Nascar racing (a Tony Stewart fan), and woodworking. Bruce was a fixer-upper who enjoyed working home projects. He loved his dogs Bailey and Abbey. He was a member of the Lakengren Dragons and enjoyed poker nights. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother Wayne Isom. Survived by wife Diana L. Paxson Isom whom he married July 3, 1982; children Tina Pugh & husband Robert of Eaton; Erika Dooley & husband Mark, II of Eaton; Mark Isom and Carrie Isom both of Richmond, IN: grandchildren Robert C. Pugh, Kaitlyn Pugh, Jordan Pugh, Ashley Alder, Tanner, Gage, Heaven and Takota Isom: brothers and sisters Walter Isom of Port St. John, FL; Raymond Isom of Merritt Island, FL; Ruth Ann Bragg of Cambridge City, IN; and Brenda Massman of Foley, MO: sister-in-law Peggy Hunt of Crawfordsville, IN: and brother-in-law Denis Paxson of Eaton: numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Preble County Humane Society - 951 S. Barron St. - Eaton, OH - 45320.
