Billey F. Bowman, age 78, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 4, 2012. Born in Bucu, VA, he was a son of the late Charlie and Ada (Sutherland) Bowman. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bill retired from General Motors in 1998 after 46 years of service. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carlisle. An avid walker, he enjoyed watching horse racing and playing corn toss at the Preble County YMCA. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Janice, especially their trip to Alaska in 2005. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by wife Janice D. (Robinson) Bowman, whom he married December 2, 1958; sons Kevin Bowman and wife Kelly of Germantown, OH and Jeff Bowman of New Lebanon; brother Gladwell Bowman of Cleveland, VA; special brother-in-law Gary Robinson of West Alexandria, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 to 11:30 AM Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
