Bert Wolf

Bert E. Wolf, 85, of Eaton, OH, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday night, December 26, 2012. Born in Pleasant Plain, OH, he was a son of the late Eldron C. & Sarah M. (Rider) Wolf. Bert was a longtime, faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton. He retired from Steinke Tractor Sales in Eaton, and then went to work as a groundskeeper for Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery in West Alexandria. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Association. Bert was always one who was willing to work and help, and coupled with a quick sense of humor, was well known and liked by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Paula J. (Dudley) Wolf on March 18, 2006: son Charles Wolf on September 14, 1993: parents Eldron and Sarah: brothers James, Herman, Herschel, and Nelson Wolf; sisters Pauline Wolf, Lavone Kirby, and Eunice Tucker. Survived by daughters Carol A. Aukerman & husband Eugene of Eaton; Marjorie J. Straw of Covington, OH; and Martha J. Hill & husband Dan of Eaton: grandchildren Bill & Rachel Aukerman, Brian & Stephanie Aukerman, Sean & Carla Straw, Brad & Katrina Davis, Brett & Sarah Hill, Bertram Wolf, II, Elizabeth Wolf Hamilton, Anthony & Johnna Hill, Rick & Wendy Howell: 19 great grandchildren: sister Clara Jackson of Carlisle, OH: and daughter-in-law Cindy Wolf of Trenton, OH. Friends may call on the family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin 10:00 AM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Farmer presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
