Bernice L. Daum

Bernice L. Daum, 96, of Richmond, IN, passed away early Thursday morning, December 7, 2017. Born October 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Luella (Heiney) Lee. Bernice retired after 10+ years with the Catalog Department at the Sears store in Richmond. She volunteered as a Grey Lady at Reid Hospital, with the Wayne County Tourism and Convention Bureau, and at the Richmond Senior Center. Earlier in life, her family took in foster children and hosted foreign exchange students. She was a giving, caring, lovely woman who lived a rich and full life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by beloved husband Robert Daum on March 26, 2001; son Ronald E. Daum on September 22, 2010; and six brothers and sisters. Survived by daughter Georgianna "Jan" Daum Doty Benson and her husband Jerry of Richmond; grandchildren Renee L. Doty of Williamsburg, IN, Brian P. Doty and wife Michelle Park Doty of Richmond, KY, Gina Doty Waddle of Williamsburg, Katie Daum Miller and husband Corey of Eaton, OH, and Alex Daum and wife Kristi of Eaton; great grandchildren Brenden and Chloe Waddle, Matthew and Campbell Doty, and Dawson, Breeanna and Colton Daum; daughter-in-law Rebecca Bales Daum of Eaton; and close lifelong friend Eve Lammott of Richmond. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH.
