Barbara S. Reed

Barbara S. Reed, age 74, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2015, surrounded by her children. Born February 28, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Clarence & Bertha M. (Hayes) Lockhart. Barb was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to do anything involving her family. She enjoyed tending to the flower gardens around her home; was the family's wedding coordinator, making the gowns, decorations and flower arrangements for her grandchildren's weddings; loved to vacation with her family; and sitting and singing around the campfire. Barb was the cement that held the family together. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by beloved husband Paul B. Reed on August 19, 2010: grandchildren Amber and Charlie: brothers and sisters Carl Hayes, Keith Lockhart, Helen Hayes, Bill Hayes, Betty Mroz, Patsy Fetters and Chuck Lockhart. Survived by children Kathy Kinder of West Alexandria, OH; Cindy Penney & husband Gary of New Lebanon; Paula Stout & husband Ron of New Lebanon; and Brian Reed & wife Pam of Clayton, OH: 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren: sisters Linda Honious & husband Harold of Brookville, OH; Donna Jean Phillips of New Lebanon: brother Jim Lockhart & wife Joyce of Brookville: and a host of other family and friends. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
