Barbara Jean Allen

Barbara Jean Allen, 84, of West Alexandria, OH, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2020, following a lengthy illness. Born June 5, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Opal and Eva Bailey. She worked many places over the years; 10 years at Baxter in Eaton, Twin Tavern, State Line Truck Stop, TA Truck Stop, the Chicken factory in Eaton, KFC, Dayton Flex and as a cook at Oak Tree Residential home in Eaton. In the 1970's, she was the pianist and organist for Grace Brethren Church. Barbara loved to draw.She is preceded in death on August 25, 2010 by beloved husband of 52 years Jim Allen; and by sister Geraldine Cooper. Barbara is survived by children Terry J. (Linda) Allen of St. Mary's, OH, Diana (Michael) Shade of Lynn, IN, Delores O'Dell of West Alexandria, Shirley Dane of Eaton, Angie (William) Stone of New Albany, IN, and Gregory Allen of West Alexandria; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. A graveside burial of cremated remains will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2020 at Preble Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center, West Alexandria.
