Arvil Dean, 87, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2019. Born March 14, 1932 in Nickelsville, VA, he was a son of the late Noah and Kate (Salley) Dean. Arvil served three years with the Virginia National Guard from 1950 - 1953. He retired after 30 + years from the Inland Division of General Motors, Third Street Plant, as a Group Leader in the Steering Wheels department, where he was affectionately know as "Deano". A licensed Pastor with the Church of God of Anderson, IN, he was a member of the Christian Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Germantown. Arvil was a man who lived the Word of God in his heart, his words and his deeds. (Matthew 25: 35-40). In addition to his parents he is preceded in death on August 28, 2014 by his beloved wife, companion and helpmate of 62 years Mary Lena (Carter) Dean; and a sister Emma Fields. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law James and Linda Dean of Vandalia, OH: granddaughter Chelsea Dean of Hebron, KY: grandson Kyle Dean of Chicago, IL: special niece Angie (Chuck) Reynolds of Brookville, OH: brothers R D (Cathy) Dean of Kingsport, TN; Dennis Dean of Church Hill, TN; and Worley Dean of Cincinnati, OH: sisters Shirley (Charles) Smith of Rogersville, TN and Ebbie Skeens of Rogersville, TN. A service to honor Arvil's life and acknowledge his death will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Pastors Bobby Reed and Holie Van Hoose will preside. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
