Alice W. King , age 95, of Eaton, OH, passed away Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014 following an extended illness. Born March 4, 1919 in Cambridge, OH, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Chloe (Fisher) Barnes. Before, during and after WW II, she worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell in Zanesville, OH. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Harper, OH and most recently attended the Eaton Baptist Temple. In the 1970's and 1980's, she was a member of the Herd of Turtles Kazoo Band in Eaton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother Ralph Barnes. Alice is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years Arthur L. King, whom she married December 19, 1944: sons & daughters-in-law David L. & Diana King of Eaton; Robert E. & Daisy King of Huntsville, OH; Michael A. & Betty King of Chapin, SC; Ralph P. & Robin King of Eaton: 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Lowell T. Spencer presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Burial at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
