Alfonso Lockee, age 87, of Eaton, OH and formerly of Virginia, passed away Sunday morning, July 29, 2012. Born on a Cherokee Reservation in Pembrook, NC, he was a son of the late Roy & Cora Lockee. Al served with the US Coast Guard during WW II as a cook on board a Coast Guard Cutter. He later worked for 30+ years with the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company. For over 30 years he enjoyed playing Santa Claus with his wife, Dawn, as Mrs. Claus. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centerville, OH. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Roy Edward Lockee in 1979: daughter Bertha Anita Lancaster in 2001: 2 sisters and 1 brother. Survived by wife Dawn W. (Campbell) Lockee, whom he married December 29, 1945: daughter & son-in-law Patricia & V. Chris Simons of Eaton: grandchildren Jeffrey Dale (Heidi) Simons, Dawn Rene Simons-Knight; Edwina Lancaster, David Lee Lancaster and Patricia Lancaster: great grandchildren Sydney Rene Knight and Kylie Nicole Simons: sister Myra Lee Bush of GA. A memorial service will be held 2:00 Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Wood Glen Nursing Center - 3800 Summit Dr. - Dayton, OH. Pastor Winston Baldwin presiding.
