Ada M. (Ashley) Grubb

76, of West Alexandria, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023.

She was born March 28, 1947 in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Woodrow and Lora (Campbell) Ashley.

In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Grubb; grandchildren, Matthew Wellbaum and Courtney Marie Grubb; brothers, Ova, Cecil, John, and Woodrow Jr. Ashley; and sisters, Dorothy Webb and Marie Roope.

She is survived by her children, Donald, Darold, Ronald, and Melissa Grubb; grandchildren, Wesley Grubb, Ashley Price, Elizabeth Grubb, and Jessica Kaiser; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Ora (Barbara) Ashley; and sister, Mary Jo Brannon.

Ada was a force of nature, known far and wide for love of Bingo! With her contagious enthusiasm, she graced the bingo halls of our community for decades. Her sharp wit and unwavering determination made her a force to be reckoned with on the bingo cards, and she always managed to bring smiles and laughter to those around her.

But Ada's true passion lay in her family. Her eyes would light up with pride as she watched her grandkids play ball games. From Little League to high school championships, she was a steadfast presence on the sidelines, cheering her heart out and offering words of encouragement to her young athletes.

However, Ada's greatest gift was undoubtedly her culinary gift. She had a natural talent for transforming simple ingredients into gourmet delights, but her specialty was biscuits and gravy. Those who were fortunate enough to taste her creations knew they were in for a treat. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, and the aroma of freshly baked biscuits and the rich, savory gravy would draw everyone in, filling their hearts as well as their bellies.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 12 from 11AM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria 45381.  The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Rick Shepherd officiating.  Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
